Chocolate Raspberry Cake with Mini Chocolate Chips and Raspberry Meringue Buttercream
This is one of the first cakes that I made, and shared with neighbors, that led to people asking me to make cakes for their special occasions. Family and friends have all really loved the combination of raspberry and chocolate, and many had not even tasted a meringue buttercream before. The freeze dried fruit adds a very raspberry flavor, as well as, natural color, and is light and rich, without being overly sweet. It’s such a great balance with a deep, dark chocolate cake. P

The BEST Blondies
Don’t worry, I have taste-tested them alllll so you don’t have to, haha! This blondie recipe is just too good. It’s lightly adapted from Duff Goldman’s recipe in his book, “ Super Good Baking for Kids .” His book is awesome for bakers of all levels! Blondies are usually the first recipe I will make in any cookbook, and are my go-to for casual gatherings, because they are so customizable. This recipe centers around brown butter which, as always, takes the flavor next level ama

Chocolate Cobbler
Growing up, I was never a fan of fruit desserts, such as pie or cobbler. (I am, since, reformed.) But, I never felt that fruit belonged in dessert. I missed out on so much, right?! I mean, I got by: I always gravitated towards the chocolate-y things…the gooier the better. So, now my grown-up self, has created a hybrid dessert, based on one that is traditionally a fruit-centric treat, and made it with a chocolate base and a sweet cream drop biscuit topping, but kept the simpl

Honey Granola Scones, with Cinnamon Sugar Butter Glaze
Beautiful, delicate, dainty treats are just not my thing. I don’t have the gentle hand for them, I guess. Tiny, bite size, with precise details…not my wheelhouse. (Also might explain why my Pickleball game looks more like baseball…I tend to use too much force!) Now, thick, chunky, loaded with add-ins…those are my jam. These scones look bakery - worthy once baked, and are quick to mix up, but they can also withstand my heavy hand, and still remain tender. Just mix, scoop and

Absolutely Fudgy-est Brownies
Aka: Brown Butter, Brown Sugar Brownies I am not the person diving for an edge piece of brownies out of the pan. But, I will fight you for a dead - center piece. Sometimes I * have * to carve out the center piece, just because I need the actual least baked bite. These brownies are SO rich and SO thick and SO chocolatey. I do think there is something here for every brownie lover to love. Crackly top, bubbled up edges, and just enough underbaked gooey insides. I did stretch t

Peanut Butter Oatmeal M&M Chocolate Chunk Cookies
I’m not sure if it is just the onset of Halloween season that gets me craving M&M’s so exhaustively, or if it’s the shorter days = the need for more comfort foods,… or just because they are a highly addicting candy that makes the happiest of cookies!! It truly doesn’t matter. When baked into cookies, I think M&M’s are the equivalent to funfetti cake. Colorful goodies make us smile! And there’s never been too many smiles. Lots of pantry staples come into play to make these co

Buckeyes
This is how I do Buckeyes. They are not the perfect “marble” shape or size (more like 4 marbles smooshed together). They are probably not one bite… for most people, anyway. They are not weighed and proportioned evenly. Some have more peanut butter top showing. Others have an extra drizzle. One might even say there are a few ugly ones in the batch. It’s all good!! Mine may never look picture perfect, but, they are, unanimously, my family’s favorite treat, of all time. The orig

'Vampire Smile' Cookies (Halloween)
I first saw these fun Halloween treats pictured on my Instagram feed ( @eatpastry ) and immediately wanted to eat one. So, I got to work making them at home for our pre - trick or treat Halloween party. They ended up being pretty easy to create and they were a hit with the neighborhood kids. I lightly adapted a Christina Tosi chocolate cookie recipe, ( All About Cookies ,) and used store bought vanilla frosting, and tinted it red. Mini marshmallows are used for the teeth. I t
